About The Teacher
Passionista, lover of Language Arts, always striving to improve her teaching methods, Jenna Sier has been an integral part of OLC for the past eight years. This year, Jenna is beginning a new role, as the Language Arts Supervisor (LS),where she is sure to bring her knowledge and enthusiasm. Originally a classroom teacher, Jenna received her Bachelor’s Degree from Keene State College, in Elementary Education. Realizing her true desire was to teach children the ins and outs of reading, she went to Nova Southeastern University where she obtained her Master’s Degree. Jenna has been tapping into her diverse experiences as a teacher, to help new teachers start their journey at OLC. Along with teaching Small Group Instruction, she assists admissions by evaluating incoming students. Her bright smile, and nurturing demeanor are sure to comfort new students and parents as they enter OLC for the first time. Jenna was chosen by the Archdiocese of Newark to aide in writing the Language Arts Curriculum used by all schools. Last year, along with other teachers, Jenna started the Intervention Team at OLC. This year, she hopes to continue to help teachers and students succeed. Along with taking care of her two little girls, Scarlet(5), and Emersyn(3), Jenna has started another endeavor. She was chosen by the Archdiocese of Newark, for a Master’s program at Seton Hall University. She is proud to report her first semester was valued learning. Jenna loves living in Montclair, New Jersey, with her husband, Reed, two daughters, and dog Grumble. She frequently visits Rhode Island where she grew up. Aside from her busy life, Jenna enjoys travelling, cooking, reading, and spending time with her beloved family. We look forward to seeing what Jenna has in store for the teachers, students, and parents of OLC this school year.
