About the Teacher and Instructional Aide
Mrs. Lopez - Classroom Teacher
Hi! My name is Mrs. Lopez. This will be my second year teaching at The OLC School! I have experience teaching Pre-K3 for three and a half years now. I graduated from New Jersey City University with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology and certification to teach in Preschool through Grade 3. I also have my Master of Arts and certification in Reading Specialist.
I truly believe every child has the ability to learn no matter what race/ethnicity/nationality/gender/religion. Every child has the potential to learn in his or her own way, at his or her own pace. As much as your children will be learning, I believe this is a learning experience for both of us, so I, too, will be learning from your children. I love the way little minds think and I am open to listening to all they have to say.
I am excited for the 2018-2019 school year and I hope you and your child are too. I welcome all students and families to a fun-filled year with open arms and a warm heart!
Just a few fun facts about me: My favorite color is purple, I LOVE LOVE LOVE ice cream (my favorites are cookies and cream and mint chocolate chip), I love to bake (my specialty is making flan), I love to go to the movies, and I love to read (mostly poetry) on my spare time and I love to read children's books (my favorite is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle).
Mrs. C. - Instructional Aide
Hello, my name is Jessica Carino. This is my third year working at the Little Harbor Academy at OLC and have found this to be the best experience yet! I graduated two years ago from Saint Peter's University with a B.S. in Psychology. I am currently working on expanding my career on to a graduate education and know that the experiences gained with the little ones in PreK 4 last year and PreK 3 this year are going to make me a better candidate for that. I look forward to working alongside with Mrs. Lopez and make it an awesome transition year into the PK-4 world for our little ones. May it be a successful year for everyone!
